FAQs

What is sedation dentistry?

faq plus icon

Sedation dentistry uses medication to help you feel calm or fall asleep during treatment. At Green Door Dental, sedation is available orally, through IV, or by inhaling a relaxing gas. Your dentist will help you select the type that suits your needs.

Do you feel pain when sedated?

faq plus icon

You won’t feel any discomfort, and, with liquid sedation and IV sedation, you won’t even remember your treatment at our Moss Vale or Gregory Hills dental clinic. Depending on the type of sedation, you will either drift into a very calm state, or into a deep sleep. And you will wake up when your treatment is finished.

Can I drive home after sedation?

faq plus icon

No. You must not drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours after dental sedation. Sedation can cause dizziness and drowsiness that persist for the rest of the day. Arrange a responsible adult to drive you home from your appointment.

Is dental sedation suitable for anxious patients?

faq plus icon

Yes. Dental sedation for anxious patients is one of its most common uses. It also suits those undergoing longer procedures or those with a strong gag reflex. Suitability is assessed individually, a pre-treatment consultation with your dentist is required before proceeding.

The key to satisfaction
is in your hands.

We’re confident you’ll be happy with your first check up and clean,
