Most patients feel comfortable getting on with their day after their crown procedure. You'll need to be mindful of any numbness from the local anaesthetic while it wears off.

You may have a few flaws in your teeth but think that - if they’re not causing major pain or discomfort - there’s no reason to invest in fixing them.

You can leave problem teeth without a tooth cap. But the longer you leave them, the more expensive and difficult it becomes to address them later.

There is good news though.

Tooth crowns are an extremely effective, natural-looking and affordable way to give you the regal smile you deserve.

And if dental crown costs seem out of reach right now, flexible payment plans mean you can have the glorious smile you’ve dreamed of today, without breaking the bank.

FAQs

How does a dental crown work?

faq plus icon

Dental crowns are natural-looking caps for damaged or broken teeth. They can be made from a range of materials including ceramic, composite, metal or a combination. Sometimes a filling may be all that's needed — your dentist will assess your situation and talk you through your options.

Where a crown is the right approach, we can mill and fit a same-day crown using our CEREC technology where clinically appropriate. Crowns are also one of the most common treatments following root canal treatment, helping to protect and strengthen the tooth afterwards. If your crown needs to be individually crafted by our ceramists, which typically takes two to three weeks, we'll fit you with a temporary crown to protect your tooth in the meantime.

How does a crown work?

faq plus icon

Your crown is secured firmly to the surface of your original tooth. Before that happens, your tooth is carefully shaped to ensure the crown fits comfortably and naturally into your smile.

Dental crowns are designed to be highly durable — strong enough for everyday eating, drinking and speaking. That said, like your natural teeth, they're not indestructible. It's worth being mindful with very hard foods and avoiding using your teeth as tools. Brush and floss your crown just as you would your natural teeth, and keep up with regular check-up and clean visits. With the right care, a crown can last many years.
